Communications
The Communications Department’s mission is to answer all emergency calls and non–emergency calls in Kenosha County, ascertain the problem, and dispatch an appropriate response in an accurate, efficient manner.
The department is the Public Safety Answering Point in Kenosha serving a population of approximately 168,000. Over 320,000 phone calls (both 9–1–1 and non–emergency) are handled annually.
The Kenosha Joint Services Communications Department and dispatch operates, under Wisconsin MABAS, as the dispatch center for Division 101.

In order to meet the high demands of the job, Communications Department 9–1–1 Telecommunicators operate multiple computer systems and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. This includes systems for enhanced and wireless 9–1–1, mapping, computer aided dispatch, emergency medical dispatch, radio systems, automatic vehicle location, and several others.
